About
1.03.2017. start of the Facture Normalisée (FN)
A standardized invoice (FN) is secured by a sticker that allows the Tax Authorities to authenticate and register all invoices circulating in Burkina Faso. It includes mandatory information (identity, TIN, addresses).
The stickers are ordered by the DGI from the technical operator and ready to be distributed to taxpayers. To obtain stickers, taxpayer must have a Tax Identification Number (IFU) because taxpayers or their representatives must present themselves at the various points of sale with a copy of their IFU registration certificate, a power of attorney, and a valid form of identification.
Taxpayers and consumers can verify the authenticity and validity of stickers in four ways:
- Visual inspection.
- UV lamp inspection.
- The DGI website (http://www.impots.gov.bf/): a search window will allow verification using the sticker number.
- QR code reader: Businesses and consumers with a smartphone equipped with a camera of at least 4 pixels can download a QR code reader app to their phone from the Play Store. Verification is done by simply capturing the image of the sticker.
5.02.2025 Arrete N2025 – 0049 defines a new modality for issuing Certified Electronic Invoices named Facture Normalisée Électronique Certifiée (FNEC) based on electronic sale system SECeF- physique with two components UV(POS) and MCF (controller). SECeF components as well as their manufacturers and distributors must be certified.
The introduction of certified electronic invoicing, which replaces standardized invoices with “sticker” stamps, is a significant step towards fiscal modernization in Burkina Faso, for greater transparency.
